Summary

2009 Swainson Hawk nest site surveys by the Ca. Dept. of Fish & Game, Resources Assessment Program Region 2.

Description

5 km x 5 km landscape blocks used for Ca. Dept. of Fish and Game central valley Swainson's hawk nest surveys since 2000, edited for 2009 surveys using the following criteria: encompass the "new" DFG Region 2 boundary while including the 'old' DFG Region 2 boundary, and at least 50% of each cell occuring below 500' elevation.

Supplemental information
The projection and datum of the original grid has been assumed based on 'best guess'. The current projection file created for this dataset was based on the assumption that the original shapefile 'r2km5a.shp' was in Ca. Teale Albers, NAD27. Information on how the grid was originally created was unavailable, and could not be duplicated precisely, therefore this grid was used "as is" in order to match previous surveys.
