The data are used to evaluate the nature and severity of the air quality problems in the state and to assess air quality trends. This data was used to display air quality data in the Salton Sea Atlas (ESRI Press).
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) compiles air quality data from monitoring stations throughout California. This dataset represents the Annual average of the maximum 1-hour daily measurements (ppm) for the years 1990 and 1999.
