To provide the user with a graphical representation, viewable within a GIS, of the boundaries of critical habitat as described in the Federal Register vol. 73, number 151, pages 45534 - 45604.
These data identify the areas designated as critical habitat for the Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep. Critical habitat for the species occurs in twelve units: Mount Warren, Mount Gibbs, Convict Creek, Wheeler Ridge, Taboose Creek, Sawmill Canyon, Mount Baxter, Mount Williamson, Big Arroyo, Mount Langley, Laurel Creek and Olancha Peak. These units are in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California in Fresno, Inyo, Mono, Tulare and Tuolumne Counties.

These data are intended to be used as a guide to identify the general areas of critical habitat for the Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep. Specific information on the location of critical habitat and the various elements comprising critical habitat should be obtained from the Final Rule designating critical habitat for the species (vol. 73, number 151, pages 45534 - 45604).
